In the title complex, {[Cu2Mo(CN)8(C12H30N6O2)2]·4H2O}n, the polyhedron around Mo has site symmetry with a distorted square-antiprismatic shape, while the Cu atom (2 symmetry) is in a distorted axially elongated octahedral coordination environment. The uncoordinated water molecule is disordered over three sites with occupancies of 0.445 (7), 0.340 (7) and 0.215 (7). Mo and Cu atoms acting as basic components are connected by an Mo—CN—Cu—NC—Mo— linkage to form a distorted diamond-like network. Additional hydrogen bonding between the N—H groups and the water molecules stabilizes this arrangement

The hydrothermal reaction of CoCl2·6H2O, 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) and K3[Fe(CN)6] in deionized water yielded the title cyanide-bridged trinuclear cluster, [Co2Fe(CN)8(C12H8N2)4]·4H2O or [{CoIII(phen)(CN)4}2{FeII(phen)2}]·4H2O, which contains two CoIII centers and one FeII center linked by cyanide bridges. The combination of coordinative bonds, O—H⋯N and O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking interactions [centroid–centroid distance = 3.630 (2) Å] results in the stabilization of a supramolecular structure. All uncoordinated water molecules are disordered. Thermogravimetric analysis reveals that the title complex loses the four crystal water molecules at about 333 K, then the anhydrous phase loses no further mass up to about 573 K, above which decomposition occurs

Consistent Attack: Universal Adversarial Perturbation on Embodied Vision Navigation

Embodied agents in vision navigation coupled with deep neural networks have attracted increasing attention. However, deep neural networks have been shown vulnerable to malicious adversarial noises, which may potentially cause catastrophic failures in Embodied Vision Navigation. Among different adversarial noises, universal adversarial perturbations (UAP), i.e., a constant image-agnostic perturbation applied on every input frame of the agent, play a critical role in Embodied Vision Navigation since they are computation-efficient and application-practical during the attack. However, existing UAP methods ignore the system dynamics of Embodied Vision Navigation and might be sub-optimal. In order to extend UAP to the sequential decision setting, we formulate the disturbed environment under the universal noise δ\delta, as a δ\delta-disturbed Markov Decision Process (δ\delta-MDP). Based on the formulation, we analyze the properties of δ\delta-MDP and propose two novel Consistent Attack methods, named Reward UAP and Trajectory UAP, for attacking Embodied agents, which consider the dynamic of the MDP and calculate universal noises by estimating the disturbed distribution and the disturbed Q function. For various victim models, our Consistent Attack can cause a significant drop in their performance in the PointGoal task in Habitat with different datasets and different scenes. Extensive experimental results indicate that there exist serious potential risks for applying Embodied Vision Navigation methods to the real world

The Association between Individual SNPs or Haplotypes of Matrix Metalloproteinase 1 and Gastric Cancer Susceptibility, Progression and Prognosis

BACKGROUND: The single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in matrix metalloproteinase 1(MMP-1) play important roles in some cancers. This study examined the associations between individual SNPs or haplotypes in MMP-1 and susceptibility, clinicopathological parameters and prognosis of gastric cancer in a large sample of the Han population in northern China. METHODS: In this case-controlled study, there were 404 patients with gastric cancer and 404 healthy controls. Seven SNPs were genotyped using the MALDI-TOF MS system. Then, SPSS software, Haploview 4.2 software, Haplo.states software and THEsias software were used to estimate the association between individual SNPs or haplotypes of MMP-1 and gastric cancer susceptibility, progression and prognosis. RESULTS: Among seven SNPs, there were no individual SNPs correlated to gastric cancer risk. Moreover, only the rs470206 genotype had a correlation with histologic grades, and the patients with GA/AA had well cell differentiation compared to the patients with genotype GG (OR=0.573; 95%CI: 0.353-0.929; P=0.023). Then, we constructed a four-marker haplotype block that contained 4 common haplotypes: TCCG, GCCG, TTCG and TTTA. However, all four common haplotypes had no correlation with gastric cancer risk and we did not find any relationship between these haplotypes and clinicopathological parameters in gastric cancer. Furthermore, neither individual SNPs nor haplotypes had an association with the survival of patients with gastric cancer. CONCLUSIONS: This study evaluated polymorphisms of the MMP-1 gene in gastric cancer with a MALDI-TOF MS method in a large northern Chinese case-controlled cohort. Our results indicated that these seven SNPs of MMP-1 might not be useful as significant markers to predict gastric cancer susceptibility, progression or prognosis, at least in the Han population in northern China

Plant-derived natural products as leads to antitumor drugs

    Get PDF
Cancer is the main cause of death worldwide. Chemotherapeutic agents used for disease treatments have shown limited antitumor activity, with a high recurrence rate. It has prompted the research efforts to identify anti-tumor compounds. Research on medicinal plants began to focus on discovery of natural products as potential leads to antitumor drugs. Medicinal plants are very interesting, have the ability to produce remarkable chemical structures with diverse biological activities. Plant-derived natural products have been used by human societies for millennia, and their biological source is most likely available and can be employed for production, have been considered as valuable sources for antitumor drugs. Many interesting natural products with biological activity are evidenced in the past few years. This review highlights the potential of natural compounds as candidates for antitumor drugs. A brief illustration of the sources and general biological effects of the main classes of plant-derived natural compounds and related molecules are also provided

Four missense substitutions (T30N, G52S, V199I and R200Q) in the porcine PRKAG3 gene were considered as the likely candidate loci affecting meat quality. In this study, the R200Q substitution was investigated in a sample of 62 individuals from Hampshire, Chinese Min and Erhualian pigs, and the genetic variations of T30N, G52S and V199I substitutions were detected in 1505 individuals from 21 Chinese indigenous breeds, 5 Western commercial pig breeds, and the wild pig. Allele 200R was fixed in Chinese Min and Erhualian pigs. Haplotypes II-QQ and IV-QQ were not observed in the Hampshire population, supporting the hypothesis that allele 200Q is tightly linked with allele 199V. Significant differences in allele frequencies of the three substitutions (T30N, G52S and V199I) between Chinese indigenous pigs and Western commercial pigs were observed. Obvious high frequencies of the "favorable" alleles 30T and 52G in terms of meat quality were detected in Chinese indigenous pigs, which are well known for high meat quality. However, the frequency of the "favorable" allele 199I, which was reported to have a greater effect on meat quality in comparison with 30T and 52G, was very low in all of the Chinese indigenous pigs except for the Min pig. The reasons accounting for this discrepancy remain to be addressed. The presence of the three substitutions in purebred Chinese Tibetan pigs indicates that the three substitutions were ancestral mutations. A novel A/G substitution at position 51 in exon 1 was identified. The results suggest that further studies are required to investigate the associations of these substitutions in the PRKAG3 gene with meat quality of Chinese indigenous pigs, and to uncover other polymorphisms in the PRKAG3 gene with potential effects on meat quality in Chinese indigenous pigs

PandA(Box) flies on Bluesky: maintainable and user-friendly fly scans with Mamba at HEPS

At the High Energy Photon Source (HEPS), the upper-level control system for PandABox has been ported to Bluesky, enabling the combination of both components' flexibility in fly-scan applications. In less than 600 lines of easily customisable and extensible backend code, provided are full control of PandABox's TCP server in native ophyd, automated configuration (also including wiring) of "PandA blocks" for constant-speed mapping experiments of various dimensions, as well as generation of scans deliberately fragmented to deal with hardware limits in numbers of exposure frames or sequencer table entries. Based on this backend, a user-friendly Mamba frontend is developed for X-ray fluorescence (XRF) mapping experiments, which provides fully online visual feedback.Comment: 11 pages, 10 figures, submitted to Appl.
